Waste Transfer Station - Former Facility

Dane County constructed a 20,850 square foot - Waste Transfer Station building and an adjacent 4,800 sq ft Clean Sweep building which opened May 1, 2013.

C&D Recycling Facility

Dane County has expanded the facility to 28,650 square feet which opened February 5, 2016. This facility has the adjacent 4,800 sq. ft. Clean Sweep building. For more information call 608-838-9555.

C&D Recycling Facility

The expanded C&D Recycling Facility will be accepting the following materials in segregated or mixed loads:

Items Recycled (loads should contain 60% or more of the following items):

  • Wood (dimensional lumber 2"x4" etc, plywood, tree trimmings, pallets, home demo, cabinets, doors, etc)
  • Vinyl Siding
  • Aggregate (concrete, rock, brick, stone, porcelain, tile)
  • Drywall, New (standard, blue board, green board all okay, painted drywall is un-recyclable)
  • Metal (sheet metal, window frames, pipe, bikes, lamps, wire‚Ķ..any metal)
  • Cardboard

Loads commonly accepted:

  • Home demolition
  • New residential construction
  • New commercial construction
  • Commercial loads containing shipping material (containing large quantities of pallets and cardboard)
  • New Construction Drywall loads

Loads commonly NOT accepted:

  • Commercial demolition containing large quantities of roofing (asbestos concerns)
  • Loads with majority of load containing plastic, tarps, burlap, insulation, or carpet
  • Commercial demolition containing large quantities of crushed drywall
  • House hold cleanouts containing large amounts of trash, clothes, mattresses, or furniture

Any load containing friable or non-friable asbestos cannot be accepted. This includes, but is not limited to commercial roofing, transite siding, or TSI pipe insulation.
