Dane County will be reconstructing CTH P from Karen Court in the Village of Cross Plains to USH 12 thru the Towns of Berry and Springfield. The project includes the following work: replace culverts, improve intersections, safety improvements, pulverize and relay the existing pavement and construct a new Hot Mix Pavement.
Work will be phased and there will be signed detours for each phase as listed below.
• Phase 1 – April-July: CTH P will be closed to through traffic but open to local traffic accessing residences between Karen Court and CTH K. CTH P from CTH K to USH 12 including the CTH K intersection will be kept open to traffic during this phase. At the end of this phase the road and the new pavement will be completed from Karen Court to south of CTH K and will be opened to traffic, including the CTH K intersection. There may be additional work installing guardrail after the road is open and traffic will be flagged around construction operations. The detour during phase one will be on USH 14 to US 12 to CTH K.
• Phase 2 – July-November: CTH P will be closed to through traffic but open to local traffic accessing residences from just north of CTH K to USH 12. CTH P from Karen Court to CTH K including the CTH K intersection will be kept open to traffic during this phase. At completion of culvert installation and intersection improvements the road will be pulverized and a new Hot Mix Pavement will be constructed. This work will include the CTH K intersection which will be constructed under traffic. Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling on CTH K during this time period. Contractors will flag traffic around their operations. The detour during phase 2 will be US 12 to CTH K.
